Requirements for coaches include:

In-Town Tots and U6: CORI and a state background check including a SORI which are completed using 1 form, color photo upload. Form must be delivered and verified in-person at a date TBD before the season.

In-Town U8/U10 and Travel U12/U14: CORI/SORI with color photo upload, concussion awareness training every two years and a one time abuse prevention training with subsequent 15 minute refresher courses each year. When complete and after an in-person verification at a date TBD before the season, you will be provided with a lanyard that must be worn at all practices and games. You only need to be in-person verified once as long as you do not have a legal name change. If you do not complete the requirements, you will not be given a lanyard. Remember- the U12 and U14 referees will ask you to leave the sideline, if not the entire field, if you do not have the required credentials.

ALL COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES MUST COMPLETE THESE STEPS.

  1. NYSA Registration - login to your account on this site and register as a volunteer coach.
  2. MYSA Adult Registration- all coaches and assistant coaches must register every year with Mass Youth Soccer by submitting a CORI/SORI form. The system will detect if you still have a valid CORI/SORI or if a new one will be initiated. Complete your CORI form here: https://secure.sportsaffinity.com/reg/index.asp?sessionguid=&domain=ma%2Dcori%2Eaffinitysoccer%2Ecom

    1.  Click Register Now
    1. New users who have never registered with MYSA, create an account with the same email address you use for NYSA.

    2. Returning users - login with your email. If your name comes up more than once, select the one with your date of birth.

    3. Follow the steps to complete the form and upload a photo.

    4. Print your verification form to submit via an in-person verification before the season starts. For returning coaches, if you have already been in-person verified and have not had a name change, you do not need to be in-person verified again. All volunteers coaching Tots-U14 who have never been in-person verified will need to attend. The process only takes a few minutes.

    5. To check the status of your registration or to print your form if you forgot, use the same log in credentials to log in to the member portal here: https://ma-adultinfo.affinitysoccer.com  If you need to print your verification form, log into your account, click on Applications, then Receipts and Forms.

TOTS AND U6 COACHES STOP HERE. ALL OTHER COACHES MUST COMPLETE THE STEPS BELOW:

  1. Using the same login credentials, login to this site: https://ma-adultinfo.affinitysoccer.com
  2. Click on the Certificates tab to access the status of your Concussion Training and SafeSport Abuse Prevention Training. Read the text on the Certificates page very carefully as it has important information and links related to your next steps.
    1. Concussion Training: If you have never taken the concussion training or if your current certificate will expire at any point before the end of the season (two years from the date on your certificate), you will need to take the training again. MYSA has created detailed instructions on how to create a new CDC account (required) and complete the 30 minute course. When complete, please download the PDF of your certificate and upload it into your account to be verified by the Risk Manager or President. Instructions: https://www.cdc.gov/heads-up/media/pdfs/youthsports/create_an_account_cdc-train_headsup.pdf?CDC_AAref_Val=https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/pdfs/youthsports/Create_an_Account_CDC-TRAIN_HEADSUP.pdf
    2.  Once you have uploaded the PDF of your valid certificate, the Risk Manager will verify it.
    3. SafeSport Abuse Training for new volunteers: If you have never taken the SafeSport Abuse Prevention Training, you will need to create an account to take this one time online course. Cut and paste the link and access code on the Certificates page and create an account. This training takes roughly 90 minutes. This training contains extremely sensitive topics; please be aware of the audience who may also be listening in the room. When complete, this certificate will automatically load into your account within one day.
    4. SafeSport Abuse Training for returning volunteers: If you have previously completed this training, it will automatically be in your account. You will just need to complete the 15 minute "Refresher" course relating to what year you are in of the cycle (e.g., Year 2 = Refresher 1, Year 3 = Refresher 2, Year 4 = Refresher 3, Year 5 = start the whole course again). The correct course will be the only one available to begin once you sign back in. The links and access codes are provided and your completion will be automatically updated on your account.
