EFFECTIVE JULY 16th, 2019:

A new Adult and CORI registration procedure has been implemented. Now, all adults must first complete the Mass Youth Soccer Adult Registration process. All adults (persons age 18 and older) are required to register directly with Mass Youth Soccer using the new platform. When you have completed that registration, please return to the Fall 2019 Volunteer Online Registration page: https://leagueathletics.com/Registration/Restrictions.asp?n=153095&org=MAIL.NEWBURYPORTSOCCER.COM
to complete the simple fields below and hit Submit at the end in order for the basic information to be loaded into our local NYSA database.  Both steps must be completed: Mass Youth Soccer platform and the NYSA page.

All volunteers MUST register through this link:  http://newburyport.mayouthsoccerconnect.org/
You will be prompted to create a username and password. This website will provide you with everything you need to complete the volunteer requirements: uploading a photo, CORI/SORI/background check, a link to the concussion awareness training (U12/U14/U18 only), and a link to the abuse prevention training (U12/U14/U18 only). You (as well as the administrators) will be able to track and see which portions of your requirements have been fulfilled all in one spot. If you took the concussion training last summer, you will have the chance to upload your certificate (PDF) and have it approved by MA Youth Soccer. If you cannot locate your certificate or took it more than a year ago, you will need to complete the training again. Remember- the referee will ask you to leave the sideline, if not the entire field, if you do not have the required credentials. Our CORI/Risk Manager, Omni Raimo, will be checking the database frequently to print new lanyards for this season. Below is an outline of what to expect on the new platform:

  1. Create username/password, input basic info, upload photo
  2. CORI/SORI- be prepared with your drivers license and previous addresses if you have been at your address for less than 7 years.
  3. U12/U14/U18 only Concussion Training- this takes about 30 minutes and I believe expires after 2 years. This is primarily an audio training and easy to listen to and watch at home/commute/multitasking. You will need to answer some multiple choice questions at the end.
  4. U12/U14/U18 only Abuse Prevention- this is the newest addition related to the Safe Soccer Policy. You will be taken to another site to complete this but it will automatically be uploaded to your mass youth soccer connect profile when completed and you can print your certificate for safe keeping. Create a username and password on this site as well on the chance that you don’t finish the training in one sitting. It will take about 1.5 hours. Subsequent years require a 15 minute “refresher.” You will be asked to answer a few multiple choice questions after completing each section of the training. This training is both audio/visual as well as a good amount of reading. Be advised- there are of course incredibly sensitive topics discussed throughout this training.
